Spectacular third album from this Quebec based progressive metal band. Southern Cross spice up a traditional prog metal sound with likes of quirky twists and turns. So while the music is very melodic and catchy it will keep you guessing most of the time. There are some elements of Perfect Element period Pain Of Salvation (think Ashes") but the music also bears some similarities to Leprous. David Lizotte is a solid accent-free vocalist. There are some barking vox from time to time to spice things up. Nothing dramatic. All in all these guys push the right buttons and are poised to leap onto the world wide metal stage. Take note. Highly recommended."
